CareFusion Presents Dizzy's Den at the Monterey Jazz Festival
What began as a dream for co-founders Jimmy Lyons and Ralph Gleason has blossomed into a three-day, 9-stage, 500-artist celebration of the best in jazz. Nestled throughout the 20-acre, oak-studded Monterey, California fairgrounds, the festival also features jazz conversations, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, clinics and an international array of food, shopping and festivities. The past three years saw record attendance (over 40,000 fans attending each year) and received accolades as the "World's Best Jazz Festival," according to a JazzTimes readers' poll. And we expect no less for the 52nd Annual Monterey Jazz Festival.
A host of jazz artists will perform across nine stages, including CareFusion's Dizzy's Den. Esperanza Spalding, George Duke, Jason Moran, Dave Brubeck Quartet and "Top Ensembles from the 2009 Next Generation Festival" are just a few of the musicians who will entertain audiences Friday, September 18 - Sunday, September 20, 2009.
A live hospital broadcast of featured artists will air from 6:00 - 8:00 pm PDT on Sunday, September 20.
